History of the Auxiliary
The AMMC Auxiliary was formed in 1962, shortly after the new Community Methodist Hospital opened its doors. The original group included many dedicated volunteers who played an active role in the life of the hospital. Over the years, the Auxiliary has continued to grow and evolve, maintaining its legacy of service and community support. From organizing fundraising efforts to managing the hospital’s Gift Shop, the Auxiliary has long served as a vital part of the AMMC family.
Candy Striper Program
High School Students Gaining Experience—and Giving Back

As junior volunteers, participants assist staff, support patients, and gain hands-on experience in a healthcare environment. It’s a rewarding opportunity to serve the community, explore future career paths, and build valuable skills in communication, empathy, and responsibility.
